Who?

 My name is Alex Paton, I am a British professional cyclist. You may already know me or recognise my name in the cycling world, but for those who do not, I race professionally for the UCI continental team Canyon Eisberg. I have in the past raced for UCI professional teams Madison Genesis and Pedal Heaven. As a junior cyclist I raced for the Great Britain cycling team competing all over the world, racing in four World Championships, working alongside some of cycling’s best athletes and coaches.

I have three different coaching packages available, each providing personalised coaching and guidance to ensure you can target certain events or achieve a personal best.  Starting from £50/month these offer fantastic value for money and a unique opportunity to be coached, mentored and guided by myself as a professional athlete.  The ability to learn from my in-depth knowledge and expertise will offer you a great head start on achieving your goals.

Monthly Coaching Packages Overview

Package One £50

Great starting point for anyone who wants to improve their cycling performance and ability.  Access to great coaching and training tailored specifically to your needs and targets in a budget friendly package.

Package Two £75

Stepping up from package one, this offers increased feedback, communication and flexibility.   Ideal for people who race, take on challenging events or lead busy lives and need the ability to have mid week adjustments and greater feedback.

When only the very best is good enough! If you have the desire to be the absolute best you can, this package gives you the platform to achieve just that.  With all the training, advice, communication, support and information you could ever need. In this package no stone is left unturned.  The true experience of a professional athlete.

Package One - £50/month

  

Initial phone/video call assessment to discuss the following -  

  • Current ability
  • How you have previously trained
  • Plan future targets
  • Strengths/weaknesses
  • Outline time available to train with life and work commitments
  • Fitness test to be conducted by yourself to enable correct training levels to be set and a starting point to monitor progress
  • This can be face to face in Aldershot area. Other locations available on request at rider cost

Service Proved -  

  • Comprehensive weekly training plan set in advance working towards goals and planned around work/life commitments
  • Detailed training sessions including specific efforts and structured training to make the most out of the time available and get the best results relative to your targets
  • Monthly phone or video call to discuss the past month, any questions and verbal feedback
  • Written weekly feedback of sessions


   

Start Package One

Package Two - £75/month

  

Initial phone/video call assessment to discuss the following -  

  • Current ability
  • How you have previously trained
  • Plan future targets
  • Strengths/weaknesses
  • Outline time available to train with life and work commitments
  • Fitness test to be conducted by yourself to enable correct training levels to be set and a starting point to monitor progress
  • This can be face to face in Aldershot area. Other locations available on request at rider cost

  Service Provided -

  • Comprehensive weekly training plan set in advance working towards goals and planned around work/life commitments. 
  • Training plan can adjusted once mid week, should your commitments change,  allowing for the most effective use if your time.
  • Detailed training sessions including specific efforts and structured training to make the most out of the time available and get the best results relative to your targets
  • Weekly phone/video call to discuss training, make adjustments and feedback on training. Great for when work commitments change or you are fatigued. Communication is the key to targeted training or rest at the correct times and results in greater progress
  • Weekly written feedback where required 
  • Greater communication, additional feedback and the ability to adjust training mid week are key advantages above Package One.

Package Three - £170/month

 Initial face to face meeting to discuss the following -  

  • Current ability
  • How you have previously trained
  • Plan future targets
  • Strengths/weaknesses
  • Outline time available to train with life and work commitments
  • One to one personal fitness test to enable correct training levels to be set and a starting point to monitor progress
  • Initial meeting within 100 miles of Aldershot area, other locations available at extra cost, please enquire

Monthly face to face meeting -

  • Training ride together or indoor trainer session/performance test
  • In depth one to one analysis of training sessions, planning future targets and checking progress towards targets
  • Hands on analysis of cycling technique and any specifics that require on the spot assessment, practice or advice
  • Monthly meeting in Aldershot, other locations available at extra cost, please enquire


  Service Provided -

  • Comprehensive training plan set in advance working towards goals and planned around work/life commitments.  Second week in advance provisionally planned and adjusted as required.
  • Premium Training Peaks account included
  • Training phases planned and explained in advance of targets
  • Detailed training sessions including specific efforts and structured training to make the most out of the time available and get the best results relative to your targets
  • As required rider/coach communication, with the ability to discuss/adjust training multiple times during the week. Communication is the key to targeted training or rest at the correct times and results in greater progress 
  • As required written feedback of training sessions 

  

Additional off the bike advice on -

  • How to correctly fuel the body for training and recovery
  • Advice on race tactics 
  • Specific preparation for event days
  • Managing psychological challenges during training and events   
  • Communication as you require, additional feedback, advice and guidance on every aspect of training (on and off the bike) and the ability to adjust training anytime during the week are what set the package apart from anything else available

What do you need?

  • As a minimum requirement, a bike, computer or laptop, your own Training Peaks account (free or premium), a GPS cycle computer and heartrate monitor 
  • To help focus and make the very best from the training, a power meter will be one of your best investments. This will allow for targeted training efforts and monitoring your progress.(Power meter required for package three)
  • An indoor trainer, such as a turbo trainer, Wattbike or rollers. A direct drive turbo trainer is best option.
  • The desire to improve and work hard, this is free but is a key requirement.
  • A premium Training Peaks account can be provided for an additional £7/month on packages one and two.  Package three includes a premium account.

How are coaching packages prescribed and monitored?

Using the highly successful Training Peaks platform we are able to prescribe, adjust, monitor and feedback on every single aspect of your training. (dependand on your chosen coaching package)


Training Peaks is a web based platform and included a dedicated phone app allowing for ease on use anytime, anyplace.


A combination of Training Peaks features and communication via phone, email or face to face meetings allow for the best experience and performance improvements possible.

How do you pay?

Payment via standing order or bank transfer, paid in advance on the 1st of each month. 

Can you change or cancel your package?

Your chosen package can be changed to another package at the end of a month if required. Each package has a minimum term of one calendar month.  If you would like to cancel your package please email and we can organise this.
